A look at the Defence news 29 August – 3 September

The threat is relevant, yet air defence is an expensive capability that is in very short supply. Netherlands Chief of Defence General Tom Middendorp and his German counterpart General Volker Wieker have committed to the increased integration of German and Dutch Air Defence.

The ‘Apollo’ cooperation agreement puts a German air defence unit of around 300 military personnel under the command of the Netherlands Defence Ground-based Air Defence Command. Middendorp foresees possible cooperation with other European partners in due course.

Netherlands Defence Academy offers military technology master’s programme

The Netherlands Defence Academy has announced a new master’s degree programme: the one-year part-time programme in Military Technology, Processes & Systems, which takes two calendar years to complete.
