FAQ
Where can I obtain Digipilot and/or a Product Key?
You can get a boxed copy of the Digipilot Program from all allied hydrographic agencies. Here you can also purchase the Product Key that you need to activate the program if you want to continue to use the program after the trial period of 30 days.
Why doesn't the installation start after inserting the Digipilot CD?
Probably because the 'auto-run' feature is set to disable. You can manually start install.bat from your cd-rom drive. See the Microsoft website on how to enable or disable the auto-run CD function.
Why does it take so long for the Activation screen to pop up?
After pressing the activation icon, the system will try to make an Internet connection. It takes a maximum of 30 seconds before the trial stops and a screen will pop up.
'Method of Activation' cannot be selected anymore.
If you press the SHIFT key while activating the screen, the options will stay available.
The option 'Activate Digipilot' stays selectable, even if it is activated.
If you try to activate again, the system will tell you that the program is already activated. Please contact digipilot@hydro.nl with this problem.
How to install Digipilot?
After inserting the CD, the program will install automatically. If not, you can start the setup manually by double-clicking the 'install.bat' file in the root directory of the CD and follow the instructions.
Where is Digipilot installed?
The program is installed in the C:\programs directory. The data (~400MB) is stored on the directory which is linked to the user who is installing the program. The (hidden) directory is also accessible to other users of the program.
How can I activate Digipilot?
Digipilot is a licensed program. Software keys are used to protect Digipilot from illegal use. An Activation Key, specific for your computer, will enable you to use this release of Digipilot, including updates without limitations. The program will cease to work if an Activation Key has not been entered within 30 days of installation. As part of the activation process you need a Product Key.
What are the minimum System requirements?
Digipilot is developed for a PC/laptop with a 1 Ghz processor (or higher) and min. 512 MB RAM, CD-ROM drive, Windows® 2000(SP4), XP(SP2) or Vista. After installation, Digipilot needs about 400 MB disk space. Microsoft® .Net® 2.0 or higher has to be installed before the activation program is used.
- Microsoft Net 2.0 required (part of setup)
- Adobe Flash player required (part of setup)
- Internet connection
Windows XP: Start --> Configuration --> Software. Browse to Digipilot and click 'Remove'.
Windows Vista: Start --> Programs and Features. Browse to Digipilot and click 'Remove'.
When will the license expire?
The license is valid until the product is replaced by a new edition. This is not expected to happen before 2010. All updates of the current edition and the data therein will be free of charge and can be downloaded from this website. Registered users will be informed by e-mail about the availability of updates.
Is it possible to install Digipilot in a network environment or on a multi-user PC?
From the start of the project, Digipilot is developed for a single user PC or laptop. Please contact digipilot@hydro.nl for a multi-user environment.
I get a 1904 error. Can it be fixed?
This error occurs when installing Digipilot on a system that has Flash Player 10 or higher installed, or when installed on Vista that has a history of Flash Player being installed. After the error the setup stops and Digipilot is not installed. Download the file flash9f_ocx_problem.zip, which holds 2 files. Read the instructions in the pdf document and finally execute the batch file to solve the problem.
