- Marechaussee
Units
The Marechaussee is divided into five districts. Each district has its own staff and a number of brigades which perform the operational tasks.
- West District;
- South District;
- North-East District;
- Schiphol District;
- National and Foreign Units District.

The staff is based in the ‘Koningin Beatrix’ Barracks in The Hague.
Marechaussee personnel do not only work in the Netherlands, however. Because of the presence of naval personnel in the Caribbean, for example, a Marechaussee brigade is permanently stationed in Curaçao and there is a Marechaussee post in Aruba.
There are also Marechaussee detachments within NATO international police units. For crisis response operations, for instance under the UN flag, Marechaussee personnel regularly go on missions abroad. In addition, protection duties for embassy staff abroad mean that some members of the Special Security Missions Brigade work abroad.
