Guarding security transports
The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee carries out security tasks for the Central Bank of the Netherlands. Security transports by road are escorted by Marechaussee outriders and armoured off-road vehicles.
Marechaussee personnel are stationed at the bank, partly so that they can assist the bank’s own security personnel in the event of a robbery or other emergency.
If large amounts of money have to be transported by road from the Central Bank of the Netherlands to other banks, Marechaussee outriders and armoured off-road vehicles escort the transport vehicle. The outriders stop the traffic at junctions so that the transport vehicle can keep moving.
