Security
The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee provides installation security, ceremonial duties, personal protection, guarding of security transports and civil aviation security.
The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee provides security and protection for various building complexes managed by the Ministry of Defence or the Royal House and locations which fall under the Protection of State Secrets Act. Marechaussee personnel also provide security and courier services at various military installations.
Marechaussee personnel carry out ceremonial duties. In their ceremonial dress, they could, for example, form a guard of honour during special events.
Marechaussee personnel provide protection for, for instance, high-ranking military personnel who visit the Netherlands or Dutch Defence personnel sent abroad.
Marechaussee outriders and armoured off-road vehicles guard security transports, for instance when large amounts of money have to be transported.
The Marechaussee supervises the protection of departing passenger flights against terrorist attacks.
