Army materiel to be delivered to Jordan

From the second half of 2010, the Defence organisation will start the delivery of army materiel to Jordan, as Minister of Defence Eimert van Middelkoop wrote in a letter to the House of Representatives last Wednesday.
The materiel to be sold includes armoured tracked vehicles (YPR-765 and YPR 806), armoured tracked command vehicles (M-577), various types of trucks, and howitzers (M-109), including the necessary loading and aiming equipment and ammunition. The deliveries are expected to be completed by late 2013.
The Royal Netherlands Army has decreased in size since the 1990s. Due to this reduction and due to current replacement projects, a significant amount of equipment has become available for sale. The materiel that is to be sold to Jordan is part of that redundant equipment.
