Parties

The F-16 Replacement Project is part of the Ministry of Defence, but it also involves the Ministries of Finance and Economic Affairs. Research institutes support the Ministry of Defence in this project in which the Dutch defence industry is also involved.

Ministry of Economic Affairs

The Military Production Office (CMP), part of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, promotes the competitive participation of Dutch industry and the Dutch service sector in the development, production and purchase of materiel and services on the national and international market.

The CMP aims to maximise the benefits of the F-16 Replacement Project for the Dutch economy. That includes supporting Dutch industry and institutes in gaining orders in the JSF programme.

The Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) and the National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR)

The Ministry of Defence cooperates closely with TNO Defence, Security and Safety and with the National Aerospace Laboratory (NLR). TNO has experience in multicriteria analysis, life-cycle costs and scenario analysis. The National Aerospace Laboratory mainly provides operational support in technical modifications to airborne weapons systems, and advises on the procurement of new systems.

Netherlands Industrial Fighter Aircraft Replacement Platform (NIFARP)

Dutch companies which are active in the aviation industry are mostly united in the NIFARP. The aim of the NIFARP is to optimise participation, from both a qualitative and a quantitative point of view, of the Dutch aviation industry in the JSF Programme. The Dutch aviation industry has a preference in this respect for participation in the development, production and sustainment of the new aircraft, rather than offset orders.

Members of the NIFARP include DutchAero B.V., Stork Aerospace / Fokker and Thales Nederland B.V. The NIFARP is represented in many aspects by the Netherlands Industry for Defence and Security Foundation (NIDV).
