Austria is sending two Saab 105 aircraft from the ‘Jettrainer Squadron’.
The country that organised last year’s NATO Tiger Meet at Kleine-Brogel Air Base is participating with seven F-16AM Fighting Falcons. Four will fly in the morning and six in the afternoon. The aircraft are from 31 Smaldeel.
The Czech Republic is being represented by 2 squadrons. 211 ‘Letka’ will bring four Gripen JAS-39Cs, and 221 will be bringing one Mi-24 Hind.
Depending on the week, one or two DA-20s will participate in the Electronic Warfare (EW) training.
Three types are coming from France. The ‘Escadron de Chasse 1/12’ is sending four Mirage 2000 RDIs and the ‘Escadron de Chasse d’Experimentation 5/330’ is sending two Mirage 2000Ds.
Our eastern neighbours will be bringing three Tornado ECRs from 321 ‘Jagdbomberstaffel’. 51 ‘Aufklarungsgeschwäder’ will also be sending three Tornados with RecceLite.
The Greeks will take part in the exercise on an observer basis.
Hungary is sending two aircraft. 59/1 ‘Puma’ Squadron is sending three JAS-39 Gripens.
India is not participating with flying units, but is sending observers to the exercise. Based on their assessment of the two weeks, they will decide whether to possibly participate in the exercise in 2011.
The Italian 21st ‘Gruppo’ will participate in the exercise with two AB-212s.
The NATO ‘flagship’ is also taking part in this major exercise. The E-3A ‘AWACS’ from No. 1 Squadron will take part with its multinational crew. The AWACS will be operating from its home base of Geilenkirchen, Germany, however.
As the organising country, we are bringing multiple aircraft, not all of which will participate every day. 313 Squadron, which has a tiger emblem, will participate with all of the squadrons as much as possible. At least eight F-16 AMs will participate in each wave. The 300 and 301 helicopter squadrons will also participate with Cougar and Apache helicopters.
Seven aircraft, including six F-16 AMs, will participate on behalf of the Norwegian 338 ‘Skvadron’.
Poland is not participating with flying units, but is sending observers to the exercise. Based on their assessment of the two weeks, they will decide whether to possibly participate in the exercise in 2011.
Spain is also participating with multiple aircraft. 142 ‘Escuadron’ is bringing four Mirage F-1Ms, and 15 Ala (Wing) is bringing two F-18 aircraft.
192 Filo from the Turkish Air Force is attending with 3 F-16 C/Ds, four of which will take part.
The USA will be participating with one KC-135 tanker aircraft of the United States Air Force. It belongs to the fleet of the 121st ARW (Air Refuelling Wing), Rickenbacker Air National Guard Base, (ANGB) of the Ohio Air National Guard.
