57th MWC military pentathlon
Welcome! On behalf of the Dutch minister of Defence and the Chief of Defence, I would like to welcome all athletes and team management to the 57th Military World Championship military pentathlon which will take place between August 27 - September 2 in The Netherlands!
The armed forces of The Netherlands and sports are linked like a commanding officer to his unit and a hurdle to the military pentathlon. The Dutch Ministry of Defence cherishes the military pentathlon and is pleased to organise this unique military world championship. Military pentathlon embodies and visualises the competencies military personnel need for their day to day tasks: perseverance, tenacity, speed and strategy.
I hope you will enjoy this tournament. Let the best man, woman and team win, but above all I wish you all Friendship through Sport!

Welkom!
Namens de minister van Defensie en de Commandant der Strijdkrachten heet ik alle atleten en equipeleiding van harte welkom bij het 57e militair wereldkampioenschap militaire vijfkamp dat plaatsvindt van 27 augustus tot en met 2 september.
De Nederlandse krijgsmacht en sport horen bij elkaar, zoals een commandant hoort bij zijn eenheid en een hindernis bij de militaire vijfkamp. Het ministerie van Defensie draagt de militaire vijfkamp een warm hart toe en maakt zich daarom graag hard voor de organisatie voor dit kampioenschap. De militaire vijfkamp belichaamt en visualiseert de specifieke competenties die militairen nodig hebben om hun dagelijkse werkzaamheden uit te kunnen oefenen: vasthoudendheid, doorzettingsvermogen, snelheid en strategie.
Ik wens u een fantastisch toernooi toe in de geest van Friendship through Sport. Laat de beste man, vrouw en team winnen!
